Marselio Mendez, a former North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS) wide receiver, and Cooper Yaggie, a former Breckenridge High School linebacker, helped lead No.3-ranked Saint John’s University to a 41-33 MIAC Championship win over No. 24-ranked Bethel on Saturday.
Mendez turned seven receptions into a game-high 154 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Yaggie led the Johnnies defense with nine tackles and a forced fumble.
Saint John’s improved to 10-0 heading into the NCAA Division III Playoffs.
