The NDHSCA Class 11A Football All State Roster was announced Wednesdays morning with three Wahpeton Huskies players named to the First and Second teams.

Wahpeton’s senior duo of Quarterback Beau Arenstein and Wide Receiver Caden Kappes both finished their Senior seasons as First Team Offensive players. Arenstein threw for eight touchdown passes this year, but rushed for over a thousand yards (1,027) and 14 touchdowns making him one of the deadliest duel threats in the EDC. Kappes returned to the All State team, even after missing time in the middle of the season due to an ankle injury. Kappes finished his senior campaign with 582 yards and five touchdowns. Last season Kappes had 879 yards and 19 touchdowns on his way to a First Team selection.

While the Huskies did not have any First Team Defense selections, Sophomore Treyton Mauch made the Second Team. Mauch was the do everything utility player that helped Wahpeton make their second straight playoff appearance. Mauch rushed for 881 yards and seven touchdowns, while also receiving for 261 yards and three touchdowns. Mauch also ran back two kicks for scores as a returning. The Sophomore was one of two underclassmen to make an All State Team joining Grand Forks Red River’s Sophomore QB Pearce Parks.
