Breckenridge improved to 4-0 on Monday, defeating Hawley 8-1 for the Cowboys’ third consecutive home win. The Cowboys have outscored their opponents 44-10.

The home team once again rode the right arm of Charlie Kratcha. The senior pitcher allowed one unearned run across six innings, scattering five hits and striking out seven. Kratcha did not issue a walk, lowering his season ERA to 0.93 and running his record to 3-0.

Breckenridge continued to feast in the sixth inning, pushing across four runs. They’ve now scored 17 runs in the sixth frame, and only played five innings of a blowout win against Ashby to open the season.

Senior catcher Jaxson Riggs led the run production, driving in three and hitting his second triple during a 2-for-4 performance. Riggs is batting .562 with a team-high 11 RBIs and four extra-base hits.

Senior third baseman Cooper Roberts paced the hit column, batting 3-for-4 and scoring twice. Roberts is batting .562 on the year and has scored seven times.

Jaxson Lopez and Lawson Oliphant anchored the bottom of the lineup with two singles and two steals apiece.

Lawson Oliphant closed the contest by working around a pair of walks in a scoreless seventh. The Cowboy pitching staff is sporting a 1.34 ERA through 26 innings.
