The Breckenridge Cowboys halted a three-game losing skid with a road sweep of Frazee on Thursday, winning by scores of 11-10 and 11-0.
The Cowboys went ahead in the eighth inning of game one when Cooper Roberts scored from third on a passed ball. The senior crossed the plate for a team-leading 26th time.
Jaxson Lopez continued his power display atop the order, batting 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Connor Ernst joined the barrel party with a solo homer, while Charlie Kratcha and Roberts both doubled.
Kratcha scored three times and drove in a pair of runs during a 2-for-3 showing. The middle infield tandem of Kratcha and Lopez stole two bases each.
Lawson Oliphant once again served a pivotal role in the No. 9 spot. The center fielder went 1-for-2 with a walk and two RBIs.
Frazee came out swinging, tallying nine hits against Gabe Armitage. The Breckenridge bullpen came to his aid, as Roberts gave up one earned run across 3 ⅓ frames and Kratcha earned the win by holding the Hornets to a run over the final two innings.
Kratcha improved to 5-1 on the bump and now boasts a 3.41 ERA across 28 ⅔ innings.
Ben Reierson produced for Frazee in the No. 9 hole, driving in four with a pair of homers.
Breckenridge took the nightcap behind a sparkling outing from Jaxson Riggs. The senior stifled Frazee across five innings, surrendering two hits and a walk while fanning three. Riggs improved to 3-1 and whittled his ERA down to a team-low 1.96 through 25 innings.
Lopez stayed white hot at the dish, going 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. The junior is now batting .431 with 21 RBIs and 17 runs. Ernst went 2-for-2 to finish the twin bill, while Armitage, Oliphant and Roberts plated two runs apiece.
Breckenridge moved its mark to 12-5 while Frazee fell to 7-12.
