North Dakota House representative Liz Conmy passed away Saturday, April 25, in a plane crash near the Twin Cities Suburbs of Brooklyn Park and Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. The crash claimed the lives of two people on board, reportedly happening shortly after takeoff.

The plane was a Beech F33A. It crashed in a park near Crystal Airport and caught fire. Local media reported the crash happened just before noon April 25.

Conmy represented the 11th District of the North Dakota House, located north of Interstate 94 in Fargo. She was elected in 2023. She was a retired Minnesota State University Moorhead teacher and a farmer with four children.

North Dakota Governor Kelly Armstrong directed all U.S. and North Dakota flags be flown at half mast on the day of Conmy’s interment.
