
Wahpeton’s track and field teams competed in the Horace Lions Club Invitational on Thursday.
Scout Woods won discus and shot put with tosses of 115-feet-11-inches and 40-feet-4-inches, repectively.
Jaida Fobb finished first with a state-qualifying 5-feet-1-inch leap in high jump. She also came in second place in the 400 in 1:03.26. Fobb ran with Taylor Mauch, Lea DeVries and Halle Miller on a pair of placing relays. The Huskies finished second in the 4×200 in 1:52.79 and third in the 4×100 in 53.40.
The 4×400 relay also placed third with a time of 4:47.68. The team consisted of Hayden Matejeck, Gracie Falck, Lucie Comstock and Myah Anderson.
Miller took third in long jump with a leap of 15-feet-7-inches and Lucie Comstock also took bronze in the mile at 5:56.53.
Noah Berge led the way on the boys side, winning the 800 meter in 2:12.10. He was also runner up in the mile in 5:02.11. Berge ran a leg of the second-place 4×400 relay which ran a time of 3:50.32. Jackson DeVries, Carter Hockert and JD Gomez also competed in the relay.
DeVries picked up a third-place finish in high jump at 5-feet-8-inches.
Marcos Blazquez also placed in the 800, taking fourth in 2:20.14.
Gomez took fourth in the 300 hurdles in 44.97.
Wahpeton’s next meet is at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Fargo South High School.
