Hillcrest Lutheran Academy grabbed a 61-53 overtime win over Hankinson in a Saturday night boys basketball game at NDSCS in Wahpeton. History was made when Hillcrest senior Luke Christensen scored his 1,000th career point.

Christensen took over in the extra period by scoring the first six points. The 6-foot-9 forward also blocked four shots in the win. Noah Brumfield added 18 points for the Comets, 12 of them coming in the opening quarter.

RaeShaun Earl led Hankinson with 23 points and Cooper Boll scored 12. Parker Hubrig was a key contributor as a passer, while also hitting a tough jumper in the closing minutes of regulation. Complete statistics were not available prior to press time.
