The Wahpeton boys basketball team was upended at home Friday by the No. 2-ranked Devils Lake Firebirds, 71-48. Beau Brodina tied the Devils Lake school record with nine three-pointers in a 33-point outing, as the Firebirds moved to 17-2 on the season and the Huskies dropped to 12-6.

Jayden King led Wahpeton with 14 points and eight rebounds. Brayden Steffens scored 13 points, but was held to 4-of-21 shooting by a stingy Devils Lake defense. Treyton Mauch (pictured above, shooting a jumper) had a great defensive game, sparking the Huskies with a game-high seven steals.

The Huskies travel to Standing Rock on Monday for a 3 p.m. tip-off.
