The Wahpeton Lady Huskies completed the season opener sweep of West Fargo Horace with a 76-67 win over the Hawks at home. 

The Huskies jumped out to a large first half lead and didn’t look back. Led by Scout Woods’ 19 point,  nine rebounds, seven steal performance the Huskies start the 2022-23 season on the right side of the win column. Emma Bontjes had 18 points on ten made free throws while varsity newcomer Hallie Miller had 15 points and seven rebounds. Senior Forward McKenna Koolmo rounded out the double digit scorers by adding 12 points and four rebounds.

As a team, the Huskies had a tough time shooting, only making 24 shots and going 0-9 from behind the three point arch. Free throws is how Wahpeton was able to secure the win, out shooting the Hawks by 27 attempts at the charity strip.

The Lady Huskies head to Valley City for a 7:15 p.m. matchup on Friday.
