North Dakota high school winter sports officially started practice on Monday ahead of the Dec. 14 opening date for games and competitions.

Wahpeton’s first varsity event will be Dec. 15 with the Wahpeton wrestling team hosting Fargo South and Fargo Davies in a triangular at the Wahpeton Middle School.

The next night both Wahpeton boys and girls basketball teams begin the season by playing Fargo South. The Huskies host the Bruins while the Lady Huskies are on the road.
