Breckenridge seniors named HOL All-Conference, six Cowgirls honored

The 2025-26 Heart O’ Lakes All-Conference selections are out, and the Breckenridge Cowgirls have six players on the list. 

Breckenridge finished the season on a torrid stretch, posting a 22-8 overall record and a 12-4 mark in conference play, tying for second in the HOL standings. The Cowgirls won 11 of their last 12 conference games and finished the season ranked No. 10 in the Minnesota Basketball Coaches Association poll for Class 1A.

Yaggie, a Minnesota Miss Basketball candidate, averaged 15.7 points, 8.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 3.5 steals, leading the Cowgirls in each category. The senior was a model of efficiency, sporting a 45/88/38 shooting split. She broke the Cowgirls’ single-game scoring record in a 42-point performance vs. Underwood. 

Bernotas, the Cowgirls’ all-time leader in three-pointers made, led the team with 60 threes while shooting 40 percent from beyond the arc. The senior averaged 13.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.7 steals. Bernotas scored a career-high 29 points at Pelican Rapids.

Gowin returned to the court after missing last season with a knee injury. The senior picked up right where she left off, making 47 threes and scoring a season-high 25 points at Dilworth-Glyndon Felton. Gowin averaged 10.8 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.8 steals. She led Breckenridge with 16 points in the section championship.

Koltes provided premium rim protection with her 6-foot-2 frame, leading the team with 1.3 blocks per game. Her passing from the high-post area was pivotal, averaging 1.5 assists while scoring 3.8 points and grabbing 5.4 rebounds per contest.

Jaehning was an incredible on-ball defender. The freshman averaged 2.1 steals per game while consistently guarding the opposing team’s best player. Jaehning played her best offensively in the section tournament, where she averaged 11.8 points and made nine 3-pointers on 53 percent shooting from downtown. On the season, she averaged 7.8 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists.

Fobb carved out a large role in her first season with the Cowgirls. The Wahpeton transfer saw her numbers steadily increase throughout the season, finishing with averages of 6.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists. 

Frazee won the conference with a 13-3 mark, earning Hornets frontman Trey Heinsius Coach of the Year and senior Jayden Sonnenberg Most Valuable Player honors.
