The fourth-seeded Breckenridge Cowboys (22-7) saw their season come to an end Wednesday following an 80-57 loss to the top-seeded Henning Hornets (29-0) in the Section 6A Semifinals.

Breckenridge started out hot for the second straight playoff game, grabbing a 23-16 lead on the No. 1-ranked team in Minnesota’s Class 1A. The Hornets responded with a 13-0 run to claim a nine-point halftime advantage, led by 24 points from Kale Misegades in the opening period.

Misegades, a McDonald Award Finalist, dropped a game-high 37 points.

Cooper Roberts led the Cowboys with 18 points and Aidan Sanchez scored 14. Levi Christensen added seven points and seven rebounds.

Henning will play Park Christian in the section title game after the Falcons defeated Pelican Rapids on a buzzer-beater.
