Cooper Roberts rises up for a bucket in the paint
The Breckenridge Cowboys continued lighting up the scoreboard Friday with an 88-60 win over Park Rapids Area. The victory moves Breckenridge to 18-4 on the season and 10-1 in Heart O’ Lakes Conference play.
Senior point forward Cooper Roberts led the attack with another balanced effort, collecting 18 points, 10 rebounds and four assists on 53 percent shooting.
Junior guard/forward Aidan Sanchez added 12 points alongside a game-high nine assists and two blocks, including the play of the game when he flipped the ball through his legs like a football snap to Charlie Kratcha for a corner three.
Senior forward Jaxson Riggs added 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting and Connor Ernst scored 10 to round out the double-figure contributors.
Senior forward Levi Christensen supplied nine points, four rebounds and two assists while anchoring the team’s post defense. Junior guard Avery Smith led the perimeter defense with a game-high five steals.
In total, 13 Cowboys found the scoring column as Breckenridge dropped 56 points in the opening half while holding the Panthers to 21.
