Breckenridge continued its strong season Monday with a 64-53 win at West Central Area, improving to 15-3 overall while dropping the Knights to 7-9.
The game was tied 29-29 at halftime, but the Cowboys defense held the Knights to 1-of-21 shooting beyond the arc and 24 second-half points to secure the section victory.
Senior point forward Cooper Roberts filled the box score with 15 points, 12 rebounds, six assists and five steals. Senior guard Aidan Sanchez led the scoring column with 19 points.
The senior tandem of Charlie Kratcha and Levi Christensen scored nine points each, while junior Avery Smith added eight. Kratcha was efficient on 3-of-5 shooting from three-point land.
The Knights placed three players in double figures. They shot a paltry 31 percent from the field, but converted 18 of 20 free throws to keep the game competitive.
