Hi-Liners blow by Wahpeton as Burchill drops 26-point double-double

The Wahpeton Lady Huskies (5-8) fell behind early against the high-powered Hi-Liners, as No. 2-ranked Valley City (10-2) secured a 70-43 road win Tuesday night. 

The Hi-Liners were led by Katie Burchill’s 26 points and 13 rebounds. Burchill shot 11 of 12 from the field and blocked a pair of shots on defense. Maddy Frieze was also in double figures with 16 points on 4-of-7 shooting, including two triples.

Overall, Valley City shot an efficient 54% from the field.

The Huskies were led by eighth grade guard Piper Nelson, who scored 12 points on 4-of-12 shooting. Sophomore forward Claire Woods added 11 points on 3-of-14 shooting. 

Overall, Wahpeton shot just 28 percent from the field.
