The Breckenridge Cowgirls have two prestigious events this week on the summer basketball circuit.
Wednesday, KBMW’s Robert Wanek Jr. will be traveling to Target Center in Minneapolis alongside videographer Madison Nelson-Gira to film the Breckenridge vs. Thompson girls basketball game. The shoot will be part of the upcoming “Cowgirl Country” documentary presented by the i3G Sports Network.
Breckenridge was the No. 3-ranked team in Minnesota’s Class 1A last season, while Thompson finished as state runner-up to Valley City in North Dakota’s Class A.
The Cowgirls will also travel to St. Joseph on Saturday and Sunday to play in the Pacesetter Sweet Sixteen against some of the best teams in Minnesota.
Breckenridge opens the invitational against Rosemount and Roseville. KBMW will also be on location gathering footage for the documentary.
