The Wahpeton Wahppers amateur baseball team won its inaugural home opener Sunday against the Mantador Monsters, 2-1.
The Wahppers tallied 18 strikeouts between seven pitchers and posted seven hits at the plate. The Wahpeton lineup was led by Ryan Loewe’s 3-for-4 effort and two hits from Jackson Fliflet.
The Wahppers are 2-0 to start the summer. They host the Fergus Falls Hurricanes at 8 p.m. Friday.
