Logan Church will bring a lefty presence to the Breckenridge batting order

Jack Hiedeman begins his second season at the helm of the Breckenridge baseball team, returning his entire roster from the Cowboys 10-12 season a year ago.

Breckenridge will play its home opener at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 24, in a Heart O’ Lakes Conference game against Pelican Rapids.

“Last year, we made a nice run in the section tournament, finding our groove at the end of the year and being in the final four, so we’re looking to build on that strong finish as we enter 2025.”

The veteran roster is highlighted by three seniors — staff ace Trey Vogelbacher, slugging outfielder Paul Armitage and lefty pitcher Logan Church.

Junior standouts include 6-foot-5 utility man Cooper Roberts, hard-throwing catcher Jaxson Riggs, shortstop/pitcher Gabe Armitage, experienced infielder Gavin Hoffert and speedy outfielder Lawson Oliphant.

Sophomore contributors to watch include utility player Connor Ernst and pitcher/outfielder Riley Kappes.

Cowboy coverage will air on B 92.7 FM and stream on KBMW News Live YouTube.
