Sanchez swipes nine steals, but Breckenridge falls to Hillcrest on the road

The Breckenridge Cowboys came up short in a game of scoring runs Tuesday, dropping a 53-49 Section 6A contest at Hillcrest Lutheran Academy. 
The Comets led 19-18 at the break and built a 30-18 advantage to start the second half, before Breckenridge staged a comeback on the backs of Cooper Roberts and Jaxson Riggs, who scored 11 and 10 points, respectively, in the final period. 
Riggs closed the contest with 14 points and Roberts added 13.
Aidan Sanchez was phenomenal defensively, recording nine steals and taking a charge while adding four points to the scoring column. 
Levi Christensen led the passing effort with a game-high six assists for the Cowboys.
Hillcrest was paced by 16 points from Sean Berge, who erupted after not appearing in the opening half. Preston Berge contributed 14 points and Ethan Swedberg scored eight.
The Cowboys fell to 10-11 overall and 6-4 in section play. Hillcrest moved to 14-6 overall and 14-4 in the section.
