NDSCS women’s basketball player Savanna Jones, a 6-foot-2 freshman from Eden Prairie, Minnesota, has signed to continue her basketball career at NCAA Division I Seton Hall in the Big East Conference. The Big East is home to powerhouse programs such as UConn, Creighton and Marquette.
The center will add a post presence to a Pirates team that finished 2023-24 with a 17-15 record.
Jones averaged 13.3 points and 7.7 rebounds while leading NDSCS to a first-round win at the NJCAA National Tournament. Jones added 1.6 steals and 1.0 blocks per game while shooting 60 percent from the field.
Jones continues the Lady Wildcats’ recent trend of sending players to the next level — Ivane Tensaie (Penn State/UTEP), Ambah Kowcun (Wichita State), Maile Hunt (West Virginia Wesleyan), Charita “Tiny” Lewis (Eastern Illinois University).
