
The Breckenridge Cowgirls came back from a 14-point halftime deficit to edge Wheaton/Herman-Norcross for a 61-60 home win on Thursday.
Addie Twidwell knocked down the game-winning free throw with 1.2 seconds remaining and Johnica Bernotas blocked the Warriors’ last-second shot to seal the victory.
Bernotas went for 21 points in the win with seventeen of them coming after halftime. Her fellow freshman Parker Yaggie scored a team-high 22 points.
Twidwell ended the night with eight points, all coming in the second half.
Julia Schmidt scored a game-high 24 points for Wheaton.
The 9-0 Cowgirls look to stay unbeaten in Perham at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday.+9*
