Following a multi-agency search in Richland County, an 11-year-old missing boy was found safe on Thursday morning.
The boy ran away Wednesday night after a disagreement with family according to Chief Deputy Gary Ruhl. The boy was seen biking north on I-29 near Colfax and then entered a cornfield after ditching the bike.
The boy returned home and was found Thursday morning hiding in a trailer in his family’s garage.
Along with the Richland County Sheriff’s Office, North Dakota Highway Patrol, West Fargo Police and fire departments from Abercrombie, Colfax and Walcott assisted in the search by ground and air.
A missing person’s alert was sent to surrounding communities Thursday morning.
The boy promised him he would never do that again according to Ruhl.
