Fire in Fergus Falls contained

The Fergus Falls Fire Department responded to a residential home fire at 1509 West Fir Ave. on Wednesday.

Flames were visible through an open door and smoke was showing from the exterior when police and fire responded at 10:30 a.m.

The fire was confined within five minutes of the fire department’s arrival and no occupants were found to be home. The area the fire originated from had moderate damage and the entire home has light smoke damage.

Fergus Falls Police and Ringdahl EMS assisted the fire department and damage is estimated at $3,000.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by Fergus Falls Police and Fire, the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office and West Fargo Fire Department K9.
