The Breckenridge Cowgirls set nine school records this season on their way to making the first trip to the state tournament since 1980.

Senior Riley Finkral proved herself as the best libero in school history this season. She became the first Cowgirl to hit 1,000 digs with 1,336 for her career, beat the single-season record by six with 646 and she broke her own match record of 41 with 49.

While Finkral showed she was the best defensive specialist in school history, Abby Johnson did the same as the best server in school history. She set ace records for career (213), season (105) and in a single match (10). The career mark was 150 prior to this season and the shattered record is all the more impressive considering Johnson is a junior. She also beat the single-season record of 74 by a wide margin.

Senior hitter Camryn Kaehler, who became the third Cowgirl in school history to make the All-State Team, set two records for career and season kills. The career record was 753 and Kaehler became the first Cowgirl to hit 1,000 kills with 1,022. The single-season record of 335 was also blown out of the water with Kaehler racking up 426.

Johnson also surpassed both of the kill records and needs 200 next year to surpass Kaehler as the all-time leader in kills.

Senior Ana Erickson also made the record books with five and a half blocks in a match. The school record entering this season was five.

Senior setter Carcie Materi didn’t break the career aces record, but she ends her career third all time in the stat with 1,042. She’s the third Cowgirl to crack 1,000 in a career.

Breckenridge ended the 2021 season with a record of 30-4.
