The Southeast Region Career and Technology Center students, employees and partners watched as the 53rd student-built home left on Wednesday May 12, for it’s new location. The home, transported by Schmitt House Movers out of Wyndmere, ND was headed to it’s new location the Westdale neighborhood. Schmit House Movers has transported approximately 40 SRCTC-built homes since 1985. SRCTC has been a cornerstone of local education. In 2020, Rood reported that nearly a third of Wahpeton Public Schools students, 388 individuals total, were taking classes offered by the center.
