
Breckenridge senior Jonah Christensen forced overtime with a buzzer-beating jumper as the Cowboys went on to beat the Barnesville Trojans 61-59 on Tuesday in Breckenridge.
Cooper Yaggie and Andrew Tonsfeldt duked it out all night, each reaching the 20-point mark. Yaggie poured in 15 of his 22 points in the second half while Tonsfeldt had a team-high 20 on the night.
Yaggie was joined in double figures by Sebastian Anderson with a season-high 17 points and Christensen with 13. Anderson led his team in rebounds with 11 and steals with four.
The Trojans took a nine-point lead into halftime, but the Cowboys caught fire behind Yaggie in the second half.
Next up for Breckenridge (5-0) is the annual Border Battle with Wahpeton. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. at Wahpeton High School.
