Tollefson scores 36 in loss to Fargo Davies to open season

Wahpeton senior Tyler Tollefson made seven 3-pointers Monday to score a career high 36 points as the Huskies opened the 2020-21 season with a 116-84 loss to Fargo Davies.
Tollefson’s 3-pointers came within two of tying the school record for a single game of nine. The 5-10 senior scored 24 of his points in the first half.
No. 4 ranked Fargo Davies led wire to wire, building a 24-7 lead less than four minutes into the game. Davies led 69-45 at the half.
Desire Munezero added 19 points for Wahpeton to go with six rebounds, five assists and five steals. Jackson Berndt came off the bench to score 10 points and Carter Hoerer scored nine points, all in the second half.
Letrel Davis led six Eagles in double figures with 23 points.
Wahpeton will remain at home for two more home games this weekend, hosting Fargo South at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday and Devils Lake at 4 p.m. on Saturday. Thursday’s game will be a broadcast-only game on KBMW with Saturday’s game on KBMW and live-streamed on kbmwnews.com.
