Breckenridge-Wahpeton junior cross country runner Aiden Ruddy finished 14th at the boys Minn. Section 6A cross country meet Tuesday in Long Prairie.
Ruddy’s time of 18 minutes, 4 seconds would have qualified him for the state cross country meet, but the state meet won’t be held this season due to the pandemic.
Ruddy was the third B-W runner to qualify for state in the six years since the two schools merged the cross country programs.
Overall, Breckenridge-Wahpeton placed 12th in the 24-team meet with 341 points. Staples-Motley won with 38 points, two better than West Central with 40.
Also for the B-W boys Tuesday, senior Junior Perez was 45th in 19:16, sophomore Luke Baumgardner 61st in 19:42, senior Logan Mammenga 105th in 21:41, junior Devin Demert 114th in 21:19, sophomore Bryce Awender 131st in 21:29 and senior Gus Lasch 134th in 21:37.
The B-W girls will run in their section meet Thursday in New London.
