Brayden Steffens carried the Huskies to their fifth ranked win of the season
For the second straight year, the Wahpeton Huskies topped the Hankinson Pirates in a cross-division boys basketball showcase. Following last season’s 46-44 road win, the Huskies outlasted the Pirates 57-54 in Tuesday’s home win at the Dawg Den.
Wahpeton, the No. 5-ranked team in last week’s Division “A” poll, was led by 27 points from senior guard Brayden Steffens. Senior center Alex Comings pulled down 10 rebounds.
Hankinson, the No. 4-ranked team in the Division “B” poll, was led by a game-high 31 points from senior guard RaeShaun Earl.
The Huskies improved to 13-5 while the Pirates fell to 15-2.
