Huskies dominate from start to finish against No. 4-ranked Indians

The Wahpeton Huskies (2-0) welcomed No. 4-ranked Four Winds-Minnewaukan (1-1) to town for the 2025-26 home opener Saturday, dominating the Indians from start to finish in a 76-56 victory. 

Wahpeton senior Brayden Steffens erupted for a career-high 34 points on 13-of-19 shooting, knocking down five triples in the process. Jack Gilbertson joined the party with 23 points on 9-of-14 shooting. The backcourt tandem combined for six steals.

Treyton King posted seven points and eight rebounds. The defensive duo of Alex Comings and Garnett Anderson provided solid low-post defense, covering the help side to hold Indians star Marial Deng to 16 points. 

Husky guard Aiden Bontjes led all players with six assists.
