Several Breckenridge-Wahpeton Bolts attended a small swim meet in Moorhead on Saturday. Winter weather has limited practice times, but the team still posted a few time drops and overall good swims.
Inga Dohman, 10, showed nice time drops all around. She dropped four seconds to win the 100 freestyle with a time of 1:31.43, just two seconds from a state-qualifying mark. Dohman placed runner up in the 100 medley, fourth in the 50 backstroke and sixth in the 50 breaststroke.
Evie Beyer, 9, also improved to place third in the 100 free, fourth in the 100 medley, sixth in the 50 breast and 10th in the 50 back.
Cecelia Beyer, 11, improved all her times for top-10 showings in two freestyle events and the 50 back.
Gus Dohman, 16, also dropped time, shaving three seconds off the 50 free for a victory, and two seconds off both the 50 breast and 100 medley to win both. Gus also took gold in the 100 breast.
Charlie Mertes, 14, attempted the 200 breast for the first time and won the event in 3:48.00. Mertes placed runner-up in the 50 breast, 50 free and 100 medley with improved times.
Maddy Beyer, 19, swam a nice 200 breast to claim fourth place, and improved her 50 breast for eighth as part of her four top-10 finishes.
Allison Kressin, 10, competed for the first time with a nice 50 free to finish 11th.
The Bolts host a mini team competition Monday at North Dakota State College of Science before heading into the holiday break.
