The Breckenridge Cowgirls basketball team has released its 2025-26 season schedule. The slate includes two high-profile non-conference games alongside the ultra-competitive Heart O’ Lakes Conference gauntlet and a few pivotal games against Section 6A opponents.
The Cowgirls open the campaign November 20th at Perham and tip off the home schedule November 25th against Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton. Breckenridge travels to Minneapolis to face the prestigious Minnehaha Academy on December 5th.
The Minnehaha boys program developed 2025 NBA Champion Chet Holmgren of the Oklahoma City Thunder. Holmgren’s fellow Minnehaha and Gonzaga teammate Jalen Suggs is also playing in the league.
The annual Border Battle between Breckenridge and Wahpeton is listed on the schedule as a January 17th contest at North Dakota State College of Science.
Key section games to watch for include Hillcrest Academy (Jan. 3), West Central Area (Jan. 6) and Underwood (Feb. 17).
Breckenridge also hosts a talented Sacred Heart team February 2nd.
KBMW Sports Director Robert Wanek Jr. will follow the Cowgirls all season to film and produce the full-length “Cowgirl Country” documentary chronicling the team’s journey.
