The Breckenridge Cowboys put the finishing touches on a perfect regular season with 48-8 rout of Menahga Wednesday night on the road.
David Erlandson turned five carries into 151 yards, scoring from distances of 75 and 40 yards, respectively.
Avery Smith, donning 44 instead of his usual 24, scored on both sides of the ball. He took a jet sweep in from 23 yards and picked off a pass shortly after and ran right back to the same pylon. It’s a whopping sixth game the Cowboy defense has scored in this year.
Aidan Sanchez went deep for a 34-yard fly route from Riley Kappes as the two have now connected on scores back-to-back weeks. Kappes completed all three of his pass attempts for 67 yards.
The J-Lo Bros each showed off the speed with Joey Lopez housing a 90-yard kick (the third special teams touchdown of the year for Breck) and Joel Lopez going up the left sideline for an 80-yard trip for six.
The Cowboys host their playoff opener Tuesday at Cowboy Field.
