The Lady Huskies golf team had an opportunity to see Fargo Country Club on Monday, the site of the 2025 Class “A” State Tournament. Two Wahpeton golfers placed in the top 25 and gained valuable experience on the course that will hopefully pay off in two weeks.

Senior leader Claire Langenwalter shot 6-over on each side for a solid 84. Claire had a nice birdie on No. 3 where she stuck her approach shot to three feet and drained the putt. She also had a nice par on hole No. 16 after her tee shot hit a tree and bounced back to 160 yards. She hit a 6-iron to eight feet and drained the putt to save par.

Claire’s experience really showed with a couple tough breaks. She didn’t feel like she had her “A” game, but her course management and short game paid off.

Sophomore Ella Langenwalter also had a round in the 80s with an 89. Ella really played well on the front 9 with a 6-over-par 42.

Sophomore Claire Woods bounced back after a rough front nine to shoot a solid 6-over-par 42 on the back. Claire blasted her tee shot onto the green on No. 16 and two-putted for a birdie. She then parred 17 and 18 to close out her round.

Sophomore Brooke Rosenberg recorded four pars on the front nine and two on the back. Brooke has been solid the last few weeks of the season with her confidence growing each tournament.

NEXT TOURNAMENT: West Fargo Invitational at Maple River on Wednesday, Sept. 17.
