The Wahpeton Wahppers amateur baseball team won its sixth straight game Wednesday in a 4-0 outing against the Jamestown Merchants.
Lefty hurler Nick Zach had a career night. The former Wahpeton Post 20 and North Dakota State College of Science pitcher twirled a complete game with 13 strikeouts. Zach allowed four hits and a walk, tossing 114 pitches (77 strikes) to earn the win.
Jackson Fliflet plated two runners with a triple, Jake Uhlich collected a pair of singles and Tori Uhlich added an RBI.
The Wahppers have turned their season around after a slow start, and now hold a 9-5 record ahead of Thursday’s contest vs. the Moorhead Brewers at Jack Williams Stadium.
