The Wahpeton Wahppers returned to form Sunday with a resounding 15-1 home win over the Hancock Orphans in amateur baseball.
Tori Uhlich busted out of his slump with a powerful performance. The lefty went 2-for-5 with two extra-base hits and a game-high five RBIs.
Uhlich was lights out on the mound, tossing a six-inning complete game and holding the Orphans to three hits. The righty arm walked two batters and struck out eight.
Caden Kappes, Skyler Bladow and Ryan Loewe got the party started atop the order with a combined seven hits. The trio scored 10 runs and drove in four more. Kappes and Bladow supplied two hits apiece while Loewe singled three times.
Kappes elevated his batting average to .556 with a team-high 12 runs. Loewe grabbed the team RBI lead with six on the season and bumped his average to .429. Bladow’s recent hot streak lifted his average to .321.
The Wahppers take a 4-5 record into Friday’s 7:30 p.m. home game against the Hawley Hawks at John Randall Field.
