Wahpeton Post 20 suffered its second straight sweep Tuesday, falling by scores of 8-1 and 10-3 against the West Fargo Vets. The losses dropped Wahpeton’s season record to 8-7.
Carter Hockert and Aiden Hajek had two hits apiece in the opener. Trey King, Cayson Pinsonneault, Brayden Steffens, Rylan Flack and Matt Petersen each singled in the loss.
Wahpeton posted nine hits compared to 11 for the home team.
Aiden Hajek (3-1) provided a quality start in game two, but five Wahpeton errors stuck him with the loss. Hajek pitched six innings, allowing one earned run on six hits and two walks. He recorded four strikeouts.
Hajek leads the team with 20 1/3 innings pitched and a 2.41 earned run average. The righty sports an 18:4 strikeout-to-walk ratio while holding opponents to a .227 batting average.
Hajek added two hits at the plate in the nightcap and Riley Jones also had two hits.
