Breckenridge Post 53 saw its comeback fall short Monday in Frazee, falling to Post 15 by a score of 7-5. Breckenridge scored four runs in a seventh-inning rally.
Post 53 is back to .500 with a 3-3 record on the season.
Riley Kappes led Breckenridge at the plate in a 3-for-4 performance. Jaxson Riggs went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs batted in.
Kappes, Cooper Roberts and Trey Vogelbacher each tallied an RBI.
Vogelbacher (2-1) was saddled with his first loss on the mound. The righty pitched 4 ⅓ innings, allowing four earned runs on three hits and six walks. He struck out four.
Adam Vigen was the pitcher of record for Frazee. He completed 5 ⅔ innings of one-run baseball, working around five hits and three walks while striking out six.
Vigen also supplied two hits and scored twice as the leadoff hitter.
