Following a weeklong layoff, Breckenridge Post 53 returned to the win column Monday with a 4-2 home win over Wheaton.

Trey Vogelbacher was well-rested for his second start of the campaign. The righty held Wheaton to one earned run across six frames to stay unbeaten. Vogelbacher gave up five hits and a walk while striking out six.

Vogelbacher improved his record to 2-0 and Breckenridge is now 2-1.

Logan Church worked around a walk to earn the save. The lefty used a strikeout and two fly outs to slam the door shut in the seventh.

Paul Armitage batted 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored. Church had the only other Breckenridge hit and stole two bases in the victory.

Jaxson Riggs did his job by putting the ball in play during a critical sixth inning. With the game tied 2-2, Riggs produced a hard grounder to second base which resulted in a two-run error.

Breckenridge travels to Pelican Rapids for a 6:30 p.m. game Wednesday.
