Wahpeton Post 20 kept the train rolling Wednesday, improving to 5-0 with a 9-3 home win over Barnesville Post 153.
Aiden Hajek and Eli Kappes were back-to-back run producers as the No. 3 and 4 hitters in Wahpeton’s lineup. Hajek went 2-for-4 with two runs batted in and Kappes produced two RBIs of his own despite going hitless.
Brayden Steffens, Rylan Flack, Trey King and Riley Jones each drove in a run.
Carter Hockert led the scoring effort with three runs and three steals in his leadoff role.
Steffens earned the win on the bump, pitching 3 1/3 innings without allowing an earned run. The righty worked around five hits and three walks while striking out three.
Jones was solid in relief, limiting Barnesville to a pair of runs across 3 ⅔ innings. The righty allowed three hits and two walks while striking out two.
Wahpeton returns to John Randall Field and KBMW News Live YouTube at 6:30 p.m. Friday when they face Fergus Falls to begin the annual Post 20 Baseball Tournament.
