Wahpeton High School all-time doubles leader Jackson Fliflet collected two extra baggers for the Wahppers amateur team
The Wahpeton Wahppers won their inaugural amateur baseball game Wednesday, May 28, topping the Mayville Red Caps for a 3-1 road victory in Fargo.
The Wahppers roster a handful of former Wahpeton Post 20 players. Jackson Fliflet batted 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and Caden Kappes went 1-for-3 with a triple and two runs scored. Skyler Bladow tacked on a single.
Former North Dakota State College of Science slugger Ryan Loewe added a two-RBI triple.
Another former Wildcat shined on the hill. Ben Clouse tossed a 103-pitch three-hitter to earn the win. The righty walked three and struck out seven across seven innings.
Trace King, also a former NDSCS player, nailed down the six-out save, working around three hits and striking out two to hold the Red Caps scoreless.
