Jane Marie (Buscher) West, age 86, of Breckenridge, MN, passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND. Visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 21, 2025, followed by the recitation of the Rosary at 6:30 p.m., and the prayer service 7 p.m., at St. John’s Catholic Church, Wahpeton, ND. The funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 22, 2025, with a visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m., at St. John’s Catholic Church, Wahpeton. Father Greg Haman will be officiating the services. Burial will be held at St. Gall’s Catholic Cemetery in Tintah, MN. Arrangements have been entrusted to Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge.
Jane was born on March 12, 1939 in Breckenridge, MN to Mark and Mary (Laible) Buscher. Jane graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1957. She married David West on September 7, 1960 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Breckenridge. Jane enjoyed birthday parties, watching the Vikings and the Twins, helping with the church events. She enjoyed reading, watching movies, and spending time with her family and friends. She and David were members of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and enjoyed attending their banquets. Jane was also active with Christian Mothers, Catholic Daughters, Lady Foresters, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and the Orphan Train organization. She was able to go to Medora, ND and the Munsinger Gardens, in St. Cloud. Jane truly adored her children. They were the light of her life.
Survived by her children, Tracy Allen West, Therese Marie West, Valerie Dee West, Stephanie (Paul) Kaufman, all of Breckenridge; sister, Monica (Jeff) Berg, Wahpeton; brother, Roger Buscher, Dilworth, MN; sister-in-law, Marilyn, Fargo; brother-in-law, Duane West, Longmont, CO; sister-in-law, Jeanette Schmit, of Sioux Falls, SD; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, Mark and Mary Buscher; husband, David on January 13, 2005; brothers-in-law, Darwin West, Donnie Hensch, Gene Herman and sister-in-laws, Maxine Turner, Judy Buscher, Marlys Herman, and Juanita West.
