
Jackson DeVries, Treyton Mauch and Claire Woods all qualified for the state track meet at their first outdoor event. The cool and breezy conditions were not ideal, but the Huskies track team took advantage of the opportunity to compete in a four-team meet and posted many good times and marks.
The day was highlighted by DeVries winning the 100-meter dash in a state-qualifying time of 11.34 seconds. DeVries also took second in the 400 and third in the 200.
Treyton Mauch won the 200-meter dash with a qualifying time of 23.22. Mauch added a runner-up showing in the 300-meter hurdles and a third place mark in the long jump.
Woods placed second in the shot put with a throw of 35’06” to qualify for state. Woods placed second in the discus as well.
Halle Miller’s 15’08” leap was runner-up in the long jump.
Luke Anderson finished fourth in the shot put with a throw of 40’08”.
Gracie Falck took second in the 400 (1:07.50) and third in the 1600 (6:16.30).
The Wahpeton girls won the 4×200 and 4×400 relays. Those teams consisted of Mauch, Hayden Matejceck, Miller, Addie Parker, Olivia Hansen and Gracie Falck.
