PRESS RELEASE: Vehicle catches fire after colliding with deer

On Monday March 17 2025 at approximately 05:39 hours a 2024 Subaru Outback was traveling south on Interstate 29 near mile post 23.5.  The driver and only occupant DAIGNAULT, SCOTT MICHAEL had observed a deer jump out in front of his vehicle and was unable to stop, striking his vehicle. The vehicle had then caught on fire.  Vehicle is a total loss. The driver was able to safely exit the vehicle. Driver did not sustain any injuries.  Mooreton fire and ASI ambulance responded to the scene along with the Richland County Sheriff’s Office.
