A few Breckenridge-Wahpeton Bolts swimmers competed in a small meet at Fargo Davis this past weekend, hoping to improve times for state. Natalie Gramm, 14, already has a full schedule for state and couldn’t add any events, but she dropped her time to improve her seeding.

Gramm won multiple events, taking two seconds off her 200 backstroke (230.36) and shaving a bit more off in the 100 medley (1:09.51), 400 medley (5:34.27) and 50 back (30.79).

Maddy Beyer, 17, picked up top-five placings in 50 breaststroke, 100 medley and 200 breast.

Aiden Henningsen, 14, finished third in 50 breast with top-five placings in 50 free and 100 back. Charlie Mertes, 13, placed fourth in 50 breast.

Gramm, Henningsen, Mertes and Beyer teamed up to win the 200 freestyle relay.

Annie Isom, 10, placed third in 50 breast, 50 free and 50 back. She competed in the 100 yard events for the first time, finishing fourth in 100 back, breast and free.

Millie Holubok, 11,  improved her 100 medley time for eighth place. Izzabelle Nelson, 11, earned seventh in the 100 medley.

The Bolts are sending eight athletes to Bismarck for the four-day state meet this coming weekend. Most athletes have 8-11 events. It’s a packed schedule, but they are feeling ready and hopeful for some good times, and possibly some top-eight finishes.
