
Monday night shortly before 11:45 PM Richland County Communications received a call for a multiple vehicle crash on Interstate 29 at mile marker 28.
Upon arrival deputies found that six vehicles were involved and sustained damage from metal pipes that came off a semi-trailer. The Semi was southbound on I29. The driver advised that he swerved to avoid hitting a deer that was crossing the roadway. The driver of the Semi advised that he lost control and crossed the median causing the pipes that were being hauled to come off of the trailer blocking both Northbound lanes of travel before coming to a rest in East ditch of I29. There were no injuries reported to Law Enforcement. The crash is under investigation by the Richland County Sheriffs Office.
