The University of Minnesota Crookston baseball team picked up a split Sunday in Turlock, Calif. The Golden Eagles fell in extra innings, 3-2, and picked up a 9-4 victory in the second tilt against Stanislaus state.
Former Wahpeton High School and Post 20 standout Caden Kappes went 1-for-2 with a pair of runs scored in game two. Kappes also supplied a sacrifice fly in the opener. Kappes, a sophomore shortstop, is 15-for-15 in fielding chances through three games with one double play.
