Myron “Mookie” Prochnow, 79 of Hankinson, ND passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at his home, rural Hankinson. Visitation will be Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hankinson, ND. Burial will be at Immanuel Cemetery, rural Hankinson.
Myron “Mookie” Gene Prochnow was born April 4, 1945 at the Kent Hospital, the son of Alvin and Florence (Schroeder) Prochnow. He grew up on the farm and graduated from Hankinson High School. He graduated from UND with an engineering degree. After graduation he worked at Boeing. He then worked at several manufacturing companies including Techcom Corp / Smith welding in Watertown, SD as an operations manager. He recently was a crop insurance adjuster until he retired in 2005. He then helped his brother and nephews farm.
Myron was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hankinson and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his brothers: Ronald (Janet) Prochnow, Hankinson, ND and Arlin (Joan) Prochnow, Fargo, ND, many nieces and nephews and special friend Kevin Kessler who always called him “gramps”.
He is preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Florence, sister Peggy, brother James and nephews Brian and Nick.
