NDSCS wins in Williston via forfeit, travels to Lake Region State this Sunday

The NDSCS women’s basketball suffered an 83-49 road loss at Williston on Sunday night. NDSCS was led by Lolo Carlow’s 10 points in a quiet offensive game that saw the Lady Wildcats shoot 1-for-28 from beyond the arc. 
In a turn of events, NDSCS was awarded a 2-0 victory when Williston State was forced to forfeit the contest due to a clerical error. As a result, the Lady Wildcats improved to 14-4 and remained unbeaten at 3-0 in Mon-Dak Conference play.
The Lady Wildcats looked much sharper Monday in a resounding 85-56 win, spearheaded by a 28-4 run to open the fourth quarter against Dakota College at Bottineau. Maggie Westling had a career-high 36 points and 13 rebounds while shooting 14 of 20 from the field. 
Demi (Dame) Van Gils (Van Heels) added 15 points. 
The NDSCS Men’s Basketball team dropped their contest to Williston by a score of 93-70, but also came away with a 2-0 win via forfeit. The Wildcats were led by Jikany Deang’s 15 points.
The men also bounced back Monday with an 86-66 win over Bottineau. The Wildcats were led by Shadmaan Khan’s 26 points on 11-of-11 shooting from the free-throw line.  Deang had a big game with 19 points and 19 rebounds, as the Wildcats shot made 13 of 28 triples as a team.
The Wildcat men now sit at 9-10 on the season including a 2-2 record in the Mon-Dak.  The NDSCS teams will play a program doubleheader Sunday at Lake Region State College. Games will broadcast at 1 and 3 p.m. on B 92.7 FM.
