The Breckenridge Cowgirls went to Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton on Thursday night and snapped the Rebels’ 11-game winning streak, 51-47, sweeping the season series in the process.
The Rebels last loss came in their second contest of the season — a 54-41 defeat in Breckenridge.
The visitors trailed by a dozen early in the game, before Johnica Bernotas scored seven straight to pull the Cowgirls into contention. Breckenridge took a 30-26 lead into the locker room.
Parker Yaggie closed with 12 points to lead Breckenridge, including a steal-and-score in the final minute of the game.
Ava Jaehning scored nine, Mariah Koltes had eight, Johnica Bernotas and Piper Jaehning scored seven each, and Ana Spear added five.
Greta DeVries and Aria Garrett led the Rebels with 12 points apiece.
Breckenridge improved to 10-4 and 6-3 in the Heart O’ Lakes Conference. DGF dropped to 11-3 and 7-3 in the HOL.
